This is where I talk about changes and new additions to the InkFoundry Archive.

Updates:
WYSR! - Why You Should Read: Reviews on InkFoundry to spotlight authors and stories! I wrote a few of these at the beginning of InkFoundry so it's nice to finally have somewhere to put them and even BETTER: Myna Chang and Emmie Christie have been cross-posting their reviews of fiction on InkFoundry-- that is HUGE.
Author Style Marks: Proposed by Emmie Christie, enacted about a week ago, the community gave help recommend authors by spokes like 'worldbuilding' 'characterization' and 'pacing' (there are about 10 in total I think? I need to check again). This needs to be built out and populated more so readers can use their favorite authors to find new recommendations. As of now, it can only be seen and used if the author want it to be (a button on their author's page)
Inklings! - I have some help now from the AMAZING Julia Leef and Nico Martinez-- they have made well over a hundred authors pages on InkFoundry, which has significantly freed up my time to make other adjustments to the site.
Data! The Diabolical Plots data is caught up to present, and clarkesworld 2025 is catalogued! We're approaching 2k archived stories SO FAST
Newsletter: Inkcoming! I'm recieving some much needed help and advice from Erin K. Dancer!
Art Award: Proposed, not yet figured out. Funding sorted.
Spec System: Proposed, not yet figured out. Funding undetermined.
Analytics: Semi-working, but absolutely exhausting and not where I want it to be yet.
Patreon: WE HAVE FUNDING PATRONS!!!!!! AHHHH!

Well it's been seven months and I have a _ton_ of updates! First up, Obsidian (the basis for erincairn.com) is very unintuitive so updating was made really difficult and I don't even know if pushing this update live will work or break what's already there.
Anyway! Updates to InkFoundry!
1.) An **Exclude** function has been added to the filter!
2.) There's new documentation on how tags work. https://inkfoundry.net/how-to-tag-effectively/
3.) Major update to the site-- Authors can now host works that have previously been published but are now inaccessible. (Out of print, Magazine closed, archive deleted etc.) IF's job is gonna be to verify the data-- something I am... struggling with, but hopefully I get a brainwave that helps me smooth out the process.
4.) Accessibility Widget! There's a small button on the bottom left hand corner throughout the site which can change font, font size, color-mode, etc.
5.)There's a Patreon up! Which... I don't know how to use, so I'm not... advertising that a lot.
6.) I started a Glossary!
7.) WE REACHED 1000 STORIES!!!!

Major update! InkFoundry users can now add to the archive themselves! And they can make lists of stories already on the archive! Which they can choose to make publically viewable or just keep on their inkfoundry account for themselves! I'm still getting links through the 'add' page, but I'm hopeful I'll be sharing the workload soon.
This is the first really... interactive thing I've done for the site. I'm considering maybe creating a 'notes' thing as well where account holders can save private notes about a story? A visitor asked for that functionality a long time ago and I'm pretty confident I can do it now.
The Sidebar will be updated to show 'popular tags' generated by activity on the website and with any new public lists made by account holders.
1/28/2025:
Sidebar! I'm building a sidebar! It's... occasionally fun! I'm sort of at a loss as to what to put on it. Right now I'm working on "New Tags" and "Popular Tags" as well as a "seasonal stories" section that I'm hoping will be in use by the week of valentines.
Speaking of, I'm looking for more stories with the polyamory tag. I feel like I've read at least five or six, but I don't know if they're in the archive or not...
1/27/2025:
There's a sticky widget up there now, with adjustable chips that scroll left and right!
...did anyone understand that sentence? Who knows! Just trust me! I'm proud of my sticky widget and its scrollable chips!
